Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (in-person) — Eugene, OR

The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED course is taught by highly trained experts with training in search and rescue and disaster relief. Students will learn to identify and treat life-threatening injuries and illnesses by employing the Emergency Action Steps.

This class is fully in-person, making it a convenient option for students who learn best in the classroom or those who may not be able to complete the online portion of a hybrid class. Students who prefer hybrid classes (2-hour online learning + 3-hour in-person skills session) should consider registering for our hybrid class.

If you have any medical conditions which may hinder your ability to perform certain skills in the course, such as mobility or joint impairments, we advise you to first contact us at training@lifesavercprfirstaid.com to discuss possible alternatives that may be provided. We can usually find a reasonable, alternative method of performing a skill which will still allow students to meet the training requirements of the course. However, if we cannot find a reasonable alternative which will allow you to perform the necessary skills, such as performing chest compressions and rescue breaths on the ground, we will be unable to issue a certification card.

STOP THE BLEED — Eugene, OR

The American College of Surgeons STOP THE BLEED program will empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to stop life-threatening bleeding when minutes matter. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive an American College of Surgeons Certificate of Completion in the STOP THE BLEED program.

To attend this skills session, students should complete the 15-minute online STOP THE BLEED interactive course, available at https://www.stopthebleed.org/get-trained/online-course/. Once completed, students will be prompted to enter their name and email address to access the final quiz. When passed, students' record of completion will be emailed to them, and students should present this email to the instructor at the beginning of the class.

This class is similar to our 90-minute American Red Cross Life-Threatening Bleeding & Tourniquet Application class, but is offered through the American College of Surgeons in a hybrid format and has no prerequisites. Students with an Amedican Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification who desire a more in-depth overview of these bleeding control techniques or prefer fully in-person training are encouraged to register for our Life-Threatening Bleeding & Tourniquet Application class.

The Life-Threatening Bleeding class offers advanced certification specific to treating life-threatening bleeding, such as packing wounds and applying tourniquets. This class combines both certifications.

This is a hybrid class, consisting of about two hours of online training, followed by a four-hour in-person skills session. Students will receive an email from the American Red Cross within a day with a link to the online training, which must be completed before the in-person skills session. Students who prefer fully in-person classes should consider registering for our 6-hour in-person class.

Instructor Training: First Aid/CPR/AED (Eugene)

This class takes those currently certified in First Aid/CPR/AED and trains them to become the best instructors they can be. Upon completion of this course, students will receive certification as an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED instructor.

To attend this class, students MUST have a current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification and they must demonstrate proficiency in ALL knowledge and skills taught in this course. Your instructor trainer will not teach the class to you—you must already have the skills and knowledge gained from it. As such, students will be tested—without practice—on all knowledge and skills related to this course. It is recommended that you practice to proficiency before you arrive to class. If you need added practice, it is recommended that you register for one of our First Aid/CPR/AED classes.

This class does not guarantee alignment with our organization. Rather, it is for you to become authorized to teach wherever you desire. However, upon obtaining your instructor certification, you must be aligned with a Licensed Training Provider to begin teaching.

I actually feel like I learned everything, got to practice real world situations, and was really challenged, unlike that lady that does the class in her house. Dominik is very professional. He doesn't shame you for getting something wrong, only gentle correction or scanning the room for another answer. We worked a lot in teams and recieved a ton of hands-on training. All you have to do is study, study, study before and after, whether you do the in-person teaching portion or the hybrid. I highly recommend the in-person teaching portion due to Dominik's personable teaching style and extensive knowledge. From your phone, it's easy to get distracted, but the Hilton meeting room is quite a comfortable place to focus and absorb everything.
