First Aid for Severe Allergic Reactions — Eugene, OR

Designed for individuals, parents, caregivers, and the general public, this course empowers students with the essential skills and knowledge necessary to recognize and respond to life-threatening allegic reactions (anaphylaxis). Students will learn how to identify common triggers of anaphylaxis, administer life-saving medications such as epinephrine in the correct doses, and take the critical steps necessary to ensure professional medical care is received promptly.

This class is fully in-person. Students must provide evidence of a current American Red Cross First Aid certification (note: this certification must be through the American Red Cross). Additionally, students must arrive on time, attend and participate actively in the course, and successfully complete a written test and skills evaluation on responding to anaphylaxis.

STOP THE BLEED — Eugene, OR

The American College of Surgeons STOP THE BLEED program will empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to stop life-threatening bleeding when minutes matter. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive an American College of Surgeons Certificate of Completion in the STOP THE BLEED program.

To attend this skills session, students should complete the 15-minute online STOP THE BLEED interactive course, available at https://www.stopthebleed.org/get-trained/online-course/. Once completed, students will be prompted to enter their name and email address to access the final quiz. When passed, students' record of completion will be emailed to them, and students should present this email to the instructor at the beginning of the class.

Students who are unable to complete the online portion of prior to the in-person session should allow for an additional fifteen minutes to class time.

Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED — Eugene, OR

The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED course is taught by professional responders with training in search and rescue and disaster relief. The course covers a comprehensive curriculum on life-saving techniques for a variety of common injuries and illnesses such as bleeding, burns, heart attacks, and more.

Students registering for this class will receive an email from the American Red Cross within a day with a link to an online training module. This online training takes about 1 to 2 hours and must be completed before participating in the in-person skills session. Once completed, please save a screenshot of the completion page to show the instructor at the beginning of class.

The in-person class will be held at 3780 West 11th Ave., Eugene, OR 97403.

STUDENTS WITH MEDICAL CONDITIONS:
If you have any medical conditions which may hinder your ability to perform certain skills in the course, such as mobility or joint impairments, we advise you to first contact us at training@lifesavercprfirstaid.com to discuss possible alternatives that may be provided. We can usually find a reasonable, alternative method of performing a skill which will still allow students to meet the training requirements of the course. However, if we cannot find a reasonable alternative which will allow you to perform the necessary skills, such as performing chest compressions and rescue breaths on the ground, we will be unable to issue a certification card.
